The Mission of The Bess Choice - Teaching U. is to  provide educational information in the areas of child development, early childhood education, parenting, and interpersonal relationships, to all individuals who work with young children, so that nurturing, warm and supportive learning opportunities can be offered that ultimately build, strengthen and enhance the social and emotional development, language ability, cognitive skills and personal growth of young children.

Teaching U. fully subscribes to the belief that education is the most important gift we can share with others.   As a result, it is understood that “the more you know, the better you can be at doing your job”.   So often, we enter a job with gaps and holes in our understanding.  We are not fully equipped with the information and strategies that will help us do our best when working with the children in our care. Yet, when we fill these spaces with meaningful knowledge and worthwhile plans for action, we are better prepared to meet the challenges and provide the nurturing care the children need.

Caring for U.  is a program designed to educate and support Infant and Toddler Caregivers.  The objectives of Caring for U. are: to assist caregivers in understanding very young children; to provide instruction and insight into the different stages of infant, waddler, toddler and two year-old development; and, to help caregivers make plans that will make the early care experience fun and progressive and maximize the child’s growth and development.

Learning with U. is a program designed for Early Childhood Educators. The goals of Learning with U. are to provide ECE teachers with a strong knowledge base in child development, curriculum planning, classroom management strategies and effective communication styles that will yield a positive learning experience for young children.

Directing U. is a program designed to assist Directors and Early Learning Center Administrators in creating programs that effectively educate young children, support teachers and caregivers and unify home and school.
 
Program Offerings: 
The Bess Choice – Teaching U. offers ninety-minute Teacher Training Workshops, which are designed to provide solid background information and strategies for implementation in a variety of topic areas experienced by early childhood educators in their early learning settings.  Would you like to know more information on the topics being offered? The Bess Choice – Teaching U. offers half-day Seminars, which examine an aspect of the early and middle childhood years in greater depth and provide more insight into the children in our care.

Each program offers a safe and intimate setting for learning, discussion and discovery.  Furthermore, each seminar is guaranteed to be humorous, straight-forward, enlightening and entertaining.  After all, if learning is not fun for you... how can you expect to make it fun for the kids?
